How do I apply?

  • MUSE members and non MUSE members can apply online.

What information is needed on the application?

  • Basic details about your role at your hospital are needed to determine qualification.
  • Upcoming projects and other elements about your facility are necessary to best meet your needs during the program.

What are the qualifying criteria?

  • The educational content and networking purposes of the event require that an applicant must be a Senior Hospital Executive.

Are there any fees?

  • A $5 application fee used to validate your credit card is required; there are no other fees associated with attendance.
  • There are fees for cancellation and no-shows which apply after the cancellation date December 13, 2017.
  • Please be sure to read the Terms and Conditions that are part of the Hosted Hospital Executive application.   
  • The fees are dependent on your location and time of cancellation.

What happens after I submit my application?

  • The application will be reviewed by the qualifying committee. 
  • The applicant may be contacted to discuss the application in more detail.
  • The applicant will be informed of the results of the application.

What am I committed to as a Hosted Hospital Executive?

  • If you request to check into the resort early on Saturday Jan 13, you must participate in a golf foursome on Sunday January 14.
  • You must attend the Networking Reception on Sunday evening.
  • You must attend the designated reverse trade show segment(s) on Monday.
  • You must be present during the Networking Dinner on Monday.
  • You must attend the designated reverse trade show segment(s) on Tuesday.

What is a reverse trade show?

  • A reverse trade show is a twist on the traditional trade show, allowing vendors to visit the tables of hospital executives, for a 10-minute ‘speed date’ to discuss their products and services. Should the executive wish to learn more, he/she could either request the vendor return so they can discuss their solution for an additional time segment, or exchange contact information so that further follow up can be done at a later time.
  • An orientation will be given at the event to outline how the process works.
  • Reverse trade-shows save time for hospital executives by providing the details needed to move forward on decisions.
  • Many healthcare leaders favor this type of interaction for the efficiency.

What is included in the Hosted Hospital Executive program?

  • Reimbursement of return / round-trip economy airfare up to a maximum of $600 USD.
  • Reimbursement of return travel between the airport and hotel up to a maximum of $75 USD.
  • Option to register to play golf on Sunday Jan 14. There is no cost to the executive to golf. MUSE will assign golfers to foursomes. Tee off times begin at 12:30 pm. 
  • Option for executive attendee golfers to check into the resort early and arrive Saturday Jan 13 at no additional cost. The early check in applies ONLY to attendees golfing Sunday Jan 14.
  • Accommodation (room and room tax only), at The Resort at Pelican Hill for two (2) nights.
  • Complimentary registration for the Executive Institute.
  • Entry to the official MUSE networking events including the Welcome Reception and Dinner for the Hosted Hospital Executive and up to one (1) guest. 
  • All scheduled educational sessions.
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner (spouses welcome at dinner) on Monday.
  • Breakfast and lunch on Tuesday.
  • Funds will be reimbursed after the event if obligations are met and an expense form is completed and returned.

What is not included in the Hosted Hospital Executive plan?

  • Travel insurance.
  • Flight and/or baggage fees above $600 USD.
  • Transportation fees above $75 USD.
  • Hotel upgrades.
  • Hotel incidentals.
  • Additional food outside of the meals provided.
  • Additional nights at the hotel. Any additional nights can be booked through muse@museweb.org
  • Golf.
  • Personal extras.

How is my travel and accommodation booked?

  • MUSE will book your hotel room and send you a confirmation.
  • Attendee books flights and arranges for transfers to and from the airport.  Once the obligations are met and an expense form is submitted a reimbursement check will be issued and mailed.  
  • Include local transportation contact information (taxi, car service, etc.). 

How can I view my accommodation details?

  • Once your application is approved you will be sent a hotel confirmation code by MUSE. Please print this confirmation and bring it to the hotel to check in.

What should I do if I need to cancel?

  • Whilst not encouraged, Hosted Hospital Executives may cancel their attendance to the Exhibition with no penalty on or before December 1, 2017.
  • Cancellations received after December 1, 2017 but on or before December 13, 2017 will incur a cancellation fee $250 USD.
  • Cancellations received after December 13, 2017 will incur a cancellation fee of $500 USD.
  • All cancellations must be received by MUSE by email at muse@museweb.org and must be acknowledged by MUSE to be effective.

What if I miss one of the required activities?

  • Due to the nature and location of the event, it is unlikely that you will miss one of the required activities. 
  • If there are unforeseen circumstances please speak to one of the MUSE staff on site to arrange for an alternative way to meet your obligation.

Why do you need my credit card details?

  • All applicants for the Hosted Hospital Executive Program are required to supply valid credit card details as part of the application.  MUSE requires a small application fee (US $5) to validate your credit card; a receipt for this amount will be provided.

How do I get my travel fees reimbursed?

  • Once the event is complete and your obligations have been met, you can submit the expense form. A check will be mailed within 5 business days of MUSE receiving the form.

Can I extend my trip?

  • Yes.  The room rate is $275 (US) plus applicable fees and taxes. You can add three days prior to the event and three days following the event.
  • Any additional nights can be booked through muse@museweb.org.


Can I bring someone else from my hospital?

  • If your co-worker fits the criteria and works in another department within your hospital, they are eligible to apply.
  • Typically, no more than two people from the same facility will be approved to participate.
  • You can also send an invitation to a peer at a different MEDITECH hospital. As long as they are an executive at a MEDITECH hospital, they are welcome to apply for the hosted Hospital Executive program whether they are an active MUSE member or not.
