MUSE is a non-profit organization of facilities that use the MEDITECH healthcare information system. MUSE is the largest independent MEDITECH users group in the world and has hundreds hospital members. Members include facilities using both the Magic and the Client/Server and 6.0 platforms of MEDITECH.

Should I join MUSE? Should I participate? What is the value? Glad you asked! Here are some of the benefits of MUSE:

• Education, education, education! MUSE offers hundreds of educational opportunities with a variety of clinical, financial, administrative, and technical topics for both Magic and Client/Server - and the new 6.0 - environments.
• Networking with peers and vendors to solve problems. Build relationships with your peers to solve challenges together. Gain access to consultants who are experts in the MEDITECH IT arena.
• Training! MUSE offers a wide range of seminars for the novice and expert. MUSE has a wealth of experienced users who can provide instructions in areas such as NPR report writing, billing proration, customer-defined screens, rules, dictionaries, and much more!
• Access to the benefits and pitfalls of new software releases and exposure to niche products to solve real problems. Plus, "best practice" case studies on creative uses of software.
• Strategic brainstorming on broad industry issues and special interest groups focusing on unique but important issues.
• The MUSEWeb for information access and sharing
• Professional growth through leadership opportunities, public speaking opportunities, exposure to other healthcare models, and different approaches to problem solving.

Membership types:

Facility membership - a hospital or health entity, using the MEDITECH system, may join MUSE as an organization. An unlimited number of users (who are employed by the organization) will enjoy all of the MUSE benefits and gain access. The annual membership fee is determined by the size of the organization.

Associate membership - if your organization does not wish to join as a Facility member, you can still enjoy the benefits of MUSE by joining as an individual member. Associate members must be employed by hospitals or health entities using the MEDITECH system.

Commercial membership - Those vendors offering products and/or services that compliment the MEDITECH systems can join MUSE as Commercial members.
