MEDITECH – Deploying Advanced Clinicals and Interoperable Solutions for Meaningful Use

Presenters: Patricia Trumm and John Valutkevich
Organization: MEDITECH

This is a two-part session that will provide an understanding of how MEDITECH can help prepare customers for meeting the various requirements of the HITECH portion of ARRA by implementing EHR Solutions. An overview of the HITECH Act, Certification and applications needed to achieve Meaningful Use will be provided. We will also demonstrate how provisions for "Meaningful Use" parallel MEDITECH's messages surrounding deployment of Advanced Clinical Applications, Certification and Interoperable Solutions using MEDITECH's Interoperability Suite and Forward Advantage's Data Express.

A manager in Marketing, Patricia Trumm is responsible for the demonstration team presenting MEDITECH's Advanced Clinical Systems. This solution provides caregivers with more informed, evidence-based clinical decision support, quality outcomes measurement, and an intuitive workflow design. She is also an advocate for the use of information technology to improve the safety, quality, and efficiency of health care.

Mrs. Trumm earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Assumption College and a Masters in Management from Endicott College. Before coming to MEDITECH, she worked at Doctors Hospital in New Boston, Texas as an Operating Room technician. She has been with MEDITECH for over 14 years and is respected for her expertise in the development and implementation of integrated, multi-application health care delivery systems for both inpatient and outpatient settings. Prior to her role in marketing, Mrs. Trumm served as supervisor of Implementation for Data Repository and in Client Services as a HCIS coordinator.

John Valutkevich, Senior EHR Coordinator, has been at MEDITECH since 1993 and has held a variety of positions. He began his career in Implementation supporting the General Financials, then amassed a good deal of technical expertise and managerial experience as part of 10 years in the Client Services Technical Support Group. More recently, John has spent the last couple of years working as an EHR Coordinator. He is responsible for keeping track of all of our Interoperability efforts, ARRA/HITECH legislation and our current certification pathways and plans.
