Innovative Ways to Use Rules, Query Mapping, and Current System Build Options to Improve Nursing MAR

When:  Jun 29, 2021 from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM (ET)
Innovative Ways to Use Rules, Query Mapping, and Current System Build Options to Improve Nursing MAR and Worklist documentation in PCS 6X

Navigation and efficiency in documentation for end users in 6X PCS Worklist and in the MAR can be cumbersome and time consuming as all queries must be present for the times “when they are needed.”

Requirements in documentation may be contingent on an “If/Then” logic that does not exist in the basic build of an intervention. The MAR Infusion/Titration workflows may require unique builds to accommodate the needs of both the regulatory safety with medication administration and yet be fluent for the end user. New workflows presented may require innovative and creative builds to assist end-users with proper documentation and efficiency in the workflow.

Our documentation and efficiency needs for clinical end-users has propelled us to find creative and innovative ways to build assessments/interventions for the MAR and the Worklist using MIS rules, query mapping, messaging, and current system build options to improve the fluency of navigation that will have a positive impact on nursing. Our goal is to share some of these builds to assist the nursing end users in multiple facets of documentation across the different spectrums of their workflow.

Topics:
  • Use of Co-Sign setting on Doc Section Build (current system options)
  • Use of MIS rules based on PHA build in Medication
  • Use of MIS Rule, Calculation of Elapsed time, New Query Response and Query Mapping
  • Use of rules on a doc Section to improve navigation
  • Calculation rules and query mapping have been helpful for several types of documentation
  • Use of New Query Response utilization in MIS rules
