Product Showcase - MEDITECH w/ M*Modal– Improving Clinical Documentation Improvement workflows w/ AI

When:  Apr 4, 2018 from 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM (ET)
MEDITECH w/ M*Modal – Improving Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) workflows with Artificial Intelligence (AI)

This interactive session will seek to give attendees the foundational knowledge on how AI and Natural Langue Understanding (NLU) can be used in everyday CDI workflows to improve efficiency, coverage consistency. These innovative solutions work in conjunction with
workflows and existing clinical information, both structured and unstructured (from narrative documents) from within MEDITECH.

We will discuss detailed examples of how the technology can be used to identify disparities between what is recorded in the medical record and what is meant by the physician and flag these early in the process. The AI-powered smart worklist can even help CDIS (Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists) quickly identify improvement opportunities in narrative documentation and drive targeted actions. This combined M*Modal and MEDITECH solutions can be used both for inpatient CDI and outpatient applications such as improving RAF scores for HCCs.

One of the key benefits of the solution is that the same technology can be used to identify documentation deficiencies concurrently, retrospectively and in real time. In when the technology is combined with M*Modal’s front-end speech recognition, it can deliver real-time CDI feedback to the physician as the note is being created in MEDITECH. Besides being an effective education and engagement tool, this game-changing capability has down-stream impact on CDIS productivity as “” documentation gaps would get addressed at the get-go before they become issues for the CDIS to resolve.

The intelligent use of AI delivers tangible and measurable value to CDIS. It enables proactive assessment of your documentation with the ability to drive meaningful action to deliver tremendous gains in productivity. Combined with M*Modal’s streamlined workflow, it becomes a significant time saver because there is a huge amount of data that CDI specialists don’t have access to unless they dig through charts manually. The technology reviews and evaluates time-sensitive content continuously and consistently resulting in better outcomes. During the we will demonstrate the solutions as well as share results from other MEDITECH customers that are seeing the benefits of using the technology.
This webinar will be led by Aaron Brauser, VP of CDI/HCC and Kaitlyn Crowther, Product Manager of CDI solutions both from M*Modal.
