Families with a young child experiencing a critical health or mental health crisis, experience material hardship and emotional distress at increased rates compared to families that don't. Parents not only have to care for their child(ren), but they also must do so while trying to care for themselves. There With Cares' services reduce social determinants of health through our Basic Needs Program. We work intentionally with our hospital partners to serve those families who face systemic, cultural, and/or financial barriers in accessing adequate health care and social services, including transportation, food, and housing security, and basic needs acquisition like the ability to pay for internet or phone service to remain in contact with healthcare providers. Our in-home or hospital delivery reduces barriers and increases family togetherness, wellness, and access to care.
