Sam Fielding

Chief Information Officer
Organization:  Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, Ontario

Sam Fielding is the Chief Information Officer at Southlake Regional Health Centre. He is passionate about advancing Digital Health both within and beyond Southlake.

Prior to joining Southlake, Sam was the Chief Technology Officer at Horizon Health Network for over 10 years when the New Brunswick health system underwent significant transformation with the merging of health authorities and the creation of a healthcare shared services agency. Sam has held a number of other roles in both the public and private sectors including Business Transformation, Project Management and Consulting. He has his Project Management Professional (PMP) designation and has experience in both change management and process redesign.

His formal education background includes a Bachelors of Business Administration (Honours) degree from Acadia University, an Applied Information Technology diploma and his Masters of Business of Administration from the Université de Moncton. Sam will be the 2025 Board Chair of MUSE International organization with a mandate to support MEDITECH-orientated collaboration and education across the North American healthcare sector.

Mike Cordeiro 

Director, Interoperability Market & Product Strategy

Mike Cordeiro is an interoperability strategist and thought leader, with more than 20 years’ experience devoted exclusively to healthcare IT, including over 15 years focused on the real-world deployment of interoperability products and solutions.

As MEDITECH’s Senior Director of Interoperability Market & Public Strategy, he leads strategic interoperability initiatives, advances healthcare interoperability priorities, and drives the preparation and implementation of Interoperability solutions. Mr. Cordeiro is also heavily involved in MEDITECH’s Greenfield and Traverse offerings, as well as MEDITECH’s relationship with Commonwell Health Alliance® and other strategic partners.

Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Organization: Valley Health System, Ridgewood, New Jersey

Eric Carey, Vice President and CIO for the Valley Health System, has been at Valley for over 30 years. Valley is located in Northern New Jersey and services both Northern New Jersey and Southern New York. The health system includes The Valley Hospital, Valley Medical Group, Valley Home Care, and ColigoCare. Valley provides healthcare services in approximately 60 locations. Valley opened our new hospital in Paramus, NJ on our 40+ acre Paramus Campus in April of 2024. The previous hospital campus in Ridgewood, NJ is being repurposed to provide a myriad of services, including same day surgical services, Recovery and Wellness services, outpatient Diagnostic Imaging, outpatient Lab, Community Care clinics, Graduate Medical Education (GME), Skilled Nursing Services, and much more. Valley welcomed its first classes for Primary Care and OB services into its new (GME) program in July of 2024. This coming year, a Surgical program will be added. As VP/CIO, Eric is active as a member of the Executive Staff Team. He oversees Information Systems and Telecommunications. The technology team consists of about 185 team members who provide 24/7 services for the entire Valley Health System. Valley Health uses MEDITECH Expanse and has been a MEDITECH customer since 1995.

Aditya Bansod is CTO and co-founder of Luma Health. With a lifelong passion for building software, Bansod leads Luma Health’s technical vision and strategic direction for building a Patient Success Platform that empowers healthcare providers to better serve their patients and improve healthcare outcomes. With over 15 years of experience as a product management leader developing mobile solutions at Adobe and Microsoft, and at venture-backed start-ups, Bansod made the transition from B2B software solutions to healthcare in 2015 in order to have a meaningful and measurable impact on how providers use mobile technologies to engage with and communicate with their patients.

Bobby Edwards joined BridgeHead Software in October 2011 and brings more than 25 years of extensive experience in healthcare and data management. In his current role as Principal Solutions Consultant, he is entrusted with the responsibility of actively engaging with hospitals, listening to their unique challenges, and devising innovative solutions to address complex data management issues. His goal is to enhance healthcare delivery and positively impact people’s lives through his work. Bobby has held senior positions within prominent technology and development organizations, including eMed Technology and Iron Mountain before joining BridgeHead Software.

Mike Knebel, CEO of Forward Advantage, brings over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with a diverse background that includes roles in organizations such as payors, Managed Service Organizations (MSOs), Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), consulting, and as a vendor. His extensive experience spans Finance, Operations, Sales, Business Development, and Information Technology.

A passionate advocate for improving healthcare delivery, Mike focuses on enhancing information exchange, access, data security, interoperability and fostering strong relationships with partners and customers. His leadership is dedicated to advancing Forward Advantage's mission in to bring solutions to the healthcare sector that help providers deliver quality care for their patients.
